This very tough Single Handed Racing Dinghy is great to sail and race it has an excellent Portsmouth Yardstick number which gives you a great advantage when racing.
Fast Friendly and Fun
Comet is a single handed, light, easily transportable and launchable by one person. It requires low maintenance and offers challenging performance but most of all is ONE DESIGN. The Comet is fast but surprisingly forgiving. Plenty of sail area for exciting sailing and amazing light wind performance but easily reefed for beginners. Extremely comfortable to sail with a roomy cockpit. Comets have a full programme of open meetings with large fleets at various clubs
Now it looks fantastic in the photos I took today 07/03/10., but on close inspection you will see the "Dings" and "Scratches" on a Dinghy that has been sailed and raced hard. When I bought the the Dinghy it had, its, self bail-er removed (poorly) and it had a damaged bow. I had to repair both, which I did, with the robust repairs carried out, I have been sailing and racing the Comet for two seasons since the repairs, at it has proved sound.

Is a 60 ft by 10ft6 widebeam boat, it has been recently painted in custom made paint and blacked in 2009.
There are two bedrooms and is a reverse layout, kitchen with gas cooker 12v fridge plenty of cupboard space, lounge with Morso fire on to a back boiler feeding the radiators and hot water system.
bathroom has washing machine,bath with shower over and porta potti. front bedroom is the main bedroom with a single wardrobe. the second bedroomis big enough for a single bed and draws
There has been a new water pump fitted for the central heating system march 2010, has safety certificate till 2012.
There is a full hot water system also heated from the engine, full rcd compliciant 240 electrics and 12v.

Built 2004 for current owners, currently live aboard but available at short notice if required.
Boat has BSC to 2012, was re-blacked 2008.
Beta Marine with 3.5kVA generator, 2.5kw inverter/charger.Vetus 75KGF bow thruster, portable petrol generator and 12v 400 watt wind generator.
Accommodation consists of fully fitted bedroom with fixed double bed; Bathroom with storage tank toilet;Fitted kitchen with four burner hob and oven, microwave oven and under counter fridge. Utility room with washing machine and fitted wardrobes and shelving; Dining area with six seater table and fold away double bed. Sitting area with two high backed IKEA armchairs, flat screen tv, digibox and dvd player, DAB/FM/CD player (wired throughout boat interior).
The boat has oil fired central heating via Refleks stove and four radiators.

Built by Russ Hubble of Russ Hubble Boats, she was completed in 2003, and is in absolutely superb condition throughout, having just received new professional coachpainting and international hull blacking. She is powered by a Sole Mitsubishi 62hp diesel engine having covered just 260 engine hours, and has a brand new domestic battery bank of maintenance free AGM batteries. The fit out throughout is in American White Oak, which has vertical grain, and is in a panelled style with much use of stop-bevelled solid Oak.

Sapphire is our December 2005 Liverpool Boats 48ft built to the popular 'Sandpiper' design for the'New & Used Boat Company'. As such she is fitted to a very high standard using Oak faced ply with solid Oak trim throughout.
Lighting is superb, provided through stern to bow ceiling mounted halogen spots, under cupboard mounted kitchen and bedroom spots and for cosy evenings by the fire, four wall mounted ambiance lamps in the saloon.
Heating is through two radiators and one towel rail powerd by a Webasto diesel system which also heats the hot water through a twin coil calorifier (hot water also heated by the engine). For curling up together on those relaxing winter evenings there is also a 'Villager' solid fuel stove on a tiled hearth in the saloon. Sitting on the two quality single 'Bedchairs' whilst listening to the radio/cd or watching the television make this especially cosy.
The hand built galley is well equipped with plenty of wall and floor storage complete with under cupboard lights and has a full sized 12volt fridge. Cooking is via a gas cooker/grill/oven that has hardly been used and a 240 volt microwave powered by the on board 'Sterling' invertor or shore line when moored in a marina.
The bathroom has a fully tiled quadrant shower, Thetford electric flush cassette toilet, heated towel rail and corner vanity unit.
The double berth bedroom has a sprung mattress with plenty of storage provided by under bed drawers, over bed cupboards, a full height wardrobe and an understairs cupboard for wellies e.t.c.
A curved staircase takes you up to an airing cupbard situated above the calorifier which also houses the 'On board switch gear'. This switch gear controls the Battery isolators, heating controls, invertor controls and the battery charger controls.
The rear Cruiser deck is large and comfortable for you take friends without feeling cramped. the engine running controls are housed in a lockable plinth to the left of you. The 'Vetus' bowthruster controls are also housed here making operation a joy.
The engine has less than 600hrs from new in fact it is hardly run in.
Sapphire was out of the water and reblacked 29/10/2009 when we had her issued with a new BSS certificate. |
