Crown Narrowboats of Manchester was a family run business who after 18 years in the construction industry turned their hands to building quality narrowboats utilising respected G& J Reeves shells, gaining awards including the coveted Lionel Monk Award for the best commercially built boat.
Accommodation is for four with a large 6ft x 5ft 3in permanent crossbed double, and a L-shape settee for occasional use.
The ergonomic galley has recently been refitted with all the usual appliances including a fitted microwave.
The built-in washer dryer in the aft cabin is powered by the 3.5kW engine driven generator, or from the landline when connected.
Heating on board Two Hoots is by diesel, with a corner stove fed from its own fuel tank in the bow, and compact boiler, but when cruising a switched valve allows the engine cooling system to be utilised to power the radiators.
The smooth running Beta 43 engine is refined by large hospital silencer and acoustic insulation with a Crowther high performance propeller.
To reduce the need to remove the weedhatch there is a weed cutter fitted to the prop shaft.
