Description

Originally built in 1935 by Harland and Wolff, Achilles has (in 2015) been beautifully reworked by the highly regarded Roger Farrington of Braunston, into a 45ft small Woolwich Tug. Enough of the original boat was used in the rebuild for the National Historic Ships Register to add Achilles to its list. The refit was completed in 2021 with contemporary equipment installed throughout - Victron inverter/charger; Solar charging through MPPT regulator; Squirrel stove, Classic Range in boatmans cabin and Webasto central heating; and the exterior coach painted in Grand Union colours with 2-pack epoxy on the hull, including the base plate. Boatmans cabin has a 4'6" across bed; engine room with fully rebuilt 2-cyl Lister HRWM with PRM 260 gearbox and Aquadrive coupling; Shower room, fully equipped galley and forward lounge with seat converting to a double berth or a double berth below the foredeck.
