Description

Kiehtan is a 50ft traditional-stern narrowboat, built by Jonathan Wilson and fitted out by Simpsons in 2004. She is powered by a Barrus Shire 1802 40hp inboard diesel engine and offers comfortable accommodation for up to four berths.

Kiehtan is a wonderfully cosy live-aboard boat, full of character and charm. The traditional stern is generously sized, allowing two people to stand comfortably, and features a large hatch providing excellent access and light. This leads into the engine room, which has a strong sense of a traditional boatman’s cabin and works perfectly as a wet area.

Moving forward, The bathroom is well laid out and includes a hip bath with shower over, wash basin, and cassette toilet. there are two large wardrobes providing ample storage before entering the bedroom, which features a fixed double bed with useful storage beneath

The galley follows, arranged in an L-shape with solid wood worktops. It is equipped with a stainless steel sink and drainer, a separate four-burner gas hob with oven and grill beneath, and a 230V fridge. A Houdini hatch provides excellent ventilation and natural light, and there is plentiful cupboard storage throughout.

The saloon includes a comfortable settee, fitted cupboards, and a side hatch. This is also where the solid fuel stove is located, set within an attractive tiled surround, creating a warm and welcoming living space. From here, doors lead out through the bow into the cratch area.
