Built by Ovation Boats, a well established and successful boat builder, and a regular exhibitor at the Crick Show, the Charnwood Hobbit is a superb 42ft cruiser stern narrowboat designed for quiet, eco-friendly cruising.
With it's electric propulsion system, it offers near-silent operation, making a wonderfully relaxing way to explore the waterways. Propulsion comes from a Lynch Marlin 8kW electric motor, powered by four Pylontech US5000 48V 100Ah lithium batteries.
Onboard charging by 1.2kW of cabin top solar, supported by a Beta Gen10 cocooned diesel generator, plus external shoreline.
Accomodation is for four people, with two convertible double beds on the L-shaped seating area at the fore and two bench seats at the aft.
The interior boasts a bright, modern fit-out with generous headroom of 6ft 5in throughout, creating a spacious and welcoming atmosphere.
A large walk-through shower room is located mid-ships and features a quadrant shower, cassette toilet and a stylish feature washbasin.
Heating is provided by an Eberspacher diesel boiler feeding a towel rail and two warm blown air heater matrixes, with additional heat from the diesel corner stove.
