Norton Canes Boatbuilders is a direct descendent of M E Braine, who were involved in restoring and repairing working boats and were regarded as the aristocrat of narrowboat builders in the1970s and 80s with the tradition then carried on by Graham Edgson, who held a long established reputation amongst new and old boaters alike for producing quality steel work with elegant traditional lines.
Stephen Goldsbrough was known for producing individual boats for individual people, and doing so with a deal of flair and to a high standard.
Willy No-Name has mains power provided by a Fischer Panda 4kW diesel generator and a Heart Interface inverter/charger when out cruising, and the usual landline for use on a home mooring.
All the normal home facilities are on board, with gas cooking, 12V fridge, microwave, large shower and pump-out toilet.
There are four berths, a permanent double amid ships, with a make up double in the Boatman's cabin, both having access to the shower room in between.
