Duke is a fine example of a traditional Northwich trader style narrowboat and represents the hard work of some of the most highly sort after steelwork and fit-out available.
Duke has been in sole ownership since she was commissioned by the enthusiastic owners, and she was therefore intended to be as authentic as possible.
At the aft end you will find both a highly functional Boatman's cabin and dedicated engine room, complete with two sets of engine room side doors, traditional gear and speed controls to what many would consider to be the Rolls Royce of canal boats engines, the splendid Gardner 2LW diesel engine that takes centre stage.
The hydraulic bow thruster, can be used with no restrictions for those tricky manoeuvres.
The rest of the interior features a fit-out in oak with neatly finished custom made units throughout.
Cooking and heating is taken care of by the diesel fired Heritage range, with a separate gas hob and 230V combination microwave oven.
There is a cosy Bubble Corner solid fuel stove in the saloon and a range in the Boatman's cabin, which makes cruising in inclement weather a pleasure.
There is much more to this boat than we have space to mention here.
